Helloo out there. I feel like it’s been forever since I’ve blogged. But life has been a bit hectic. I’m in my second last semester of nursing, and between class and placements, things have been a little tough.
I still love nursing and am so passionate, but it’s so time consuming and takes a lot of brain power and physical exertion. My classes are challenging but I feel like I’m genuinely learning so much.
I’ve also lost 5 pounds! I joined weight watchers a couple of weeks ago and have increased my daily activity. I even feel better. I’ve also been mediating again and occasionally even through in a bit of yoga. It’s quite nice and I’m working on balance of self care, career, and living.
My moods have been up and down and sideways. But it’s balancing out again. A couple weeks back I had a major up swing and felt on top of the world. And then of course following I had a major fall, and dealt with my depression side. However I made it out and am feeling a lot better.
Life gives us so many obstacles to overcome even when following our chosen path. And I guess that’s half the experience, seeing your true strength.
I can’t believe I’m saying this – but I love running. It is hard, very hard, but so rewarding at the same time. I run in a group which helps when I feel like I can’t go on, and it keeps me active. I’m going on my third week of this new passion of mine, and I haven’t missed a day yet (I run 3x a week).
I got a nice pair of running shoes, the Under Armour Bandits 2 and they are actually great. They have good support, and a fair bit of cushion which is extra helpful for my achey joints. Plus they look amazing.
My first couple of runs I didn’t track but I’m using an app called “Runkeeper” now and it’s also great. It gives me my time run, distance, pace, and elevation. So far my longest run has been 2.21 km (about 1.4 miles) and it was just under 10 min per km. So no I am not fast at all, but I do it – I run.
I love learning about running and better techniques, so if you have any tips or input let me know!
I have clearly taken a leave of absence after only a couple of blog posts but I have come to realize I love to write and need to write. Do you ever have that? A need that just internally satisfies you? Writing has always been that for me since childhood. So how do you make time for your small true loves?
This is key. Whether you are tech savvy and use a smartphone app, or old fashion and love a day planner (I use both).
Enjoy it! Allow this time for your passion to completely consume you in the moment.
